The Night Shift

July 18th, 2010

ed_pointing1

Well people, after working 2 weeks at my new job I am now heading to the night shift. 11:00 pm to 7:30 am. The 2 weeks on days went by quick. I had to learn procedures and all the paperwork involved. I met some really friendly people including the CEO and the owner of the company!

I prefer working nights because I have most of my professional life. There is less traffic on the freeway, it’s a lot cooler, specially in the Arizona summer, all the work is spelled out on the production board and you get paid more. Some people can’t work nights because of their lifestyle, but since I have no kids and a very understanding wife, working the night shift is pretty easy for me.

So far, compared to my last job, I am enjoying my new place of employment. Sometimes it’s a challenge, but I have always enjoyed using my brain over muscles. So wish me luck as I start working with a whole batch of new people and hours. I will keep you posted right here.

JULY 4TH 2010

July 4th, 2010

ed_pointing Today is July 4Th, 2010. Another birthday for America. It also marks a weekend that I am leaving one job for a better one. The place I have been working for the last year in a half is a great company. The only problem I have is that they run so lean that the work is killing me. It’s like running a marathon for 8 solid hours. At 53 years of age, I just can’t keep it up. Even with the help of Vicodin and 5 hour energy drinks. 2 of each a night. That is just wrong. On the weekends I am so work out that all I want to do is sleep and when I try to do something, I hurt so bad that I usually give up.

My new job is going to pay me more and I won’t have to work half as hard. I will be able to use my brain instead of my muscles. I am really looking forward to the change. I work to live, not live to work. So since Monday is the holiday, I start my new job on Tuesday. I am really going to miss the people I use to work with, they were great and treated me very well. Leaving Friday was very hard for me. I hate saying goodbye to anyone. It always tugs at my heart strings.  So wish me luck in my new endeavor and I will keep you posted on how the new job is going.

ARIZONA’S IMMIGRATION LAW

May 3rd, 2010

ed_bored

I am getting sick of everyone bashing the new immigration law here in Arizona. “It invites racial profiling” they say. Well no shit. We are a nation of mixed races, how can we function without some kind of racial profiling? We do it all the time. For instance, this last weekend a car bomb in New York failed to detonate and the NYC officials found a surveillance video of a WHITE man taking off a shirt and putting it in a bag. A WHITE man. They are looking for a white man. Isn’t that racial profiling? Why don’t they day they are looking for a man. Because it would be almost Imposable to find just a man. But if you narrow it down to a WHITE man, chances of finding him would be increased a little. Look at the 2010 census. It don’t ask if you are an American, our government wants to know if you are black, white, Indian or what ever. Is this not

racial profiling? Whoever made racial profiling against the law should have been shot and killed. In a Nation of so many mixed races can you not have racial profiling.

In Arizona we are being flooded by people from Mexico. Many of them are good people who work hard for a living to provide for their families. The only problem is that they didn’t want to wait to get the proper paperwork together to come to Arizona legally. They just hop the border or pay a guy to sneak them over the border. So now they are here illegally. They are breaking the law of the United States. Now how in the hell would you find these people in order to make them pay for breaking a law? Well if they are pulled over for running a stop sign and they can’t speak English, there is one clue. If they don’t have any identification, there is another clue. If  they look like a person who comes from Mexico, there is yet another clue.  What if men (any race) went around raping women when ever they wanted to. Well they are breaking the law. Wouldn’t you want the police to so something about them instead of ignoring them? They have jobs, pay taxes. Why don’t we just let them go do what they want to do? Because we are nation of laws and if you break the law, you know that

someday you will be caught and will have to pay the price. What is the difference? A person who breaks the law is just that, a person who broke the law.

Some people who come from Mexico are good people. Some are not so good. But one thing they have in

common is that if they can’t provide authorities with some kind of identification you are going to have to assume that you might be considered here illegally. If I get pulled over for running a stop sign and I don’t have any identification, it’s my fault if the police take me in until I can prove just who I am. That’s just the way it is my friends. Deal with it or get the fuck out of the United States of America.

Life is Good

March 28th, 2010

ed_boredLife is good so far this year. I am back working 5 days a week, so my income level is up. My health could be worse for a man st 53 years of age. Sure I hurt now and then and I have to watch what I eat due to diabetes, but over all I feel pretty good.

I know life could be a lot better, but sometimes we have to stop and smell the roses. Be happy for what we have and not what we want. Look at the accomplishments and not the short falls. When I do this, it makes me feel better about myself. I am thankful for everything I have and my family which makes life worth living.

I have always wanted a Corvette ever since I was a kid building models of Corvette’s. I still want one but I doubt it will ever happen. But wanting one doesn’t take over my life or stress me out trying to obtain one. I still turn my head and look at them when they fly by and with the gas prices up and my car insurance would go up, looking at them is a lot easier on the wallet.

What I do have is two great running cars that get me where I want and need to go and that is ok by me. I guess when you get to me my age, things you have always wanted just don’t seem as important anymore. Now I am just happy when I wake up every day knowing I am alive. That is reward enough for me. Yea, life is good.

NFL PLAYOFFS

January 11th, 2010

Well it’s that time of year again when the NFL has their playoff games. Last weekend the Dallas Cowboys (my team) has done something that they haven’t done since 1996, They won a playoff game! It’s about time. The took apart the Eagles at Dallas’s new stadium. Now The Cowboys head to Minnesota to play the Vikings. It’s now going to be a cake walk for sure but I do believe if Dallas can beat the vikings next weekend, they will have a real shot for the Superbowl. So I am keeping my fingers, toes and my net sack crossed in hopes of a Cowboy win.  Good luck Boys!

METAL ELVIS

January 22nd, 2009

I found this great band on My Space. They are called Metal Elvis and they are out of Scottsdale, Arizona. I don’t know why but I just love their music and I am actually thinking of buying their album. I haven’t bought a CD in like 20 years, but since I can’t get any of their songs from Limewire, I just might buy this one. Click the link below to see their My Space page and hear their music.

www.myspace.com/metalelvis

METAL ELVIS: “The KING’S Classic Hit’s… Metal Style!” This is the “MASH-UP” of The King’s greatest hits with yesterday’s Metal (Hard Rock Metal to Glam Metal to Thrash Metal). Say the “King” meets “Black Sabbath”, “Led Zeppelin”, “Gun’s & Roses” & “Motley Crue”, “Metallica” & others of the 70′s & 80′s. It’s the “rumor”, that after “faking” his death in 1977, that the “King”, twenty five years after his “so called death”, came out of hiding and commissioned a private investigative group to find his “only biological son.” Knowing that he couldn’t make a “comeback” himself in 2002, the “King” convinced his only begotten son to take his royal place… Hence he handed his “crown” down to him, with these words: “Son, take this crown and all that it represents… Take too, my cars, my guns, my doctors & my women! I want you to make me proud boy. “My boy, my boy” I don’t want you to impersonate me, but reinvent my music. I’ve sang everything from Country, Gospel, Rhythm & Blues and Rock & Roll… So how about a little Metal son? Metal baby! Metal!” At that point, it was agreed by both father and son that a father’s “legacy” would indeed continue to live on through the son… Metal style baby! LONG LIVE THE KING, and please welcome his band: On guitar from Guns & Roses – “Slash”, On bass from Motley Crue – “Nikki Sixx” and from KISS on drums – “The Katman.” Welcome to the world of “METAL ELVIS” baby!!!

President Obama

January 21st, 2009

Barack Obama became our 44th president of The United States yesterday. Like a lot of people, I watch the whole thing on CNN. I do believe that Obama will go down in history as the best president America has ever seen. Of course he is following the WORST president America has ever seen and it should be fairly easy to shine. I would like to thank George W. Bush for totally distroying The United States of America. The only thing he has to brag about is that since 911, there has been no attacks on American soil. Big fucking deal, how many Americans have we lost in Iraq? I am not impressed George. In 8 years is that all you can come up with? If I were you I would be ASHAMED!

Time will tell how president Obama does, but so far he has done a better job dealing with America’s problems in one day, than George did in 8 years. I am proud of our new president, no matter what color he is, I am proud once again to be called an American.

Dallas Cowboys

December 16th, 2008

I have been a Dallas Cowboy fan ever since I seen the their cheerleaders on Sunday game. I think I was about 15or so, hormones raging, lusting after girls, it made a visual impact on me. Ever since I have been watching Cowboy games and soon picked the Cowboys as my team of choice, not just because of their cheerleaders but their un-canny ability to come back in would should have been a loosing game. There has been good years and bad years. But watching The Cowboys in one of their good years sure makes up for all the bad ones. I don’t know what to think about this year, the team seems out of sink and lazy and watching their playoff hopes dwindle, sure looked like another bad year. But last Sunday when they beat the New York Giants I thought these guys just might pull it off.

This coming Saturday night the boys play the Ravens at Texas Stadium which will be the last game ever played there. The new Cowboy Stadium is set to open for next years season. Wouldn’t it be nice if they could win the Superbowl this year and play in their new, state of the art stadium? I know I am not going to hold my breath. I have seen the Cowboys have killer seasons just to loose in the first round playoffs. The Boys have two more games in the regular season and they need to win them both to have a wild card shot. After the Ravens they play The Eagles in Eagleland which is really going to be the test. If they can beat the Ravens and the Eagles, The Cowboys just might end up with their 6th Superbowl trophy.

I have taken a lot of heat for being a Cowboy fan over the years but it has been well worth it. Because when they win a Superbowl game I get to gloat and shove it down every one’s throat who gave me a hard time about my team. I have my fingers, toes and even my eyes crossed this year in hopes they will somehow come through and win the big game, but deep down inside I have a feeling it’s going to be another choke in the playoffs. We will just have to wait and see.

I like cats

December 5th, 2008

I think cats are cool. Most men want to kill them. I’m not like most men. When I was about 6 or 7 years of age, my Mom and Dad took me to my Dad’s bosses house for a 4th of July party. My Dad’s boss, Jim Law, had a Son about my age and we hung out together waiting for the night to come so we could see the fireworks. Well during our long day of goofing off we found a Mom cat and about 3 or 4 little kittens. At first we played with the kittens but after a while we got bored and decided to place the kittens on top of a barrel cactus and watch them jump around like they were on fire. We thought it was funny.

After a while someone caught us as to what we were doing and got into big trouble. I was sent to the car and told to stay there until they came to get me. Well they never came to get me until the fireworks were over and then my Dad told me to come with him. I followed him to the area where we tortured the kittens and seen them laying on the ground lifeless with their mother licking their heads. What I seen put a hole in my heart and a stain in my brain. From then on I have had a soft spot in my heart for cats. I will never forget what I did that day, and to make up for it I now spoil the shit out of every cat I have had. Smokey is my 5th cat I have owned and each one of them has lived a long kings (and Queens) life. It’s not that I don’t like dogs, but cats are my weakness. Yes, I am a cat lover.  Below are some cool YOUTUBE videos starring cats.
